What is a Salon?
A Salon is a small-group members-only gathering for professional development, networking, and pleasure. Salons are held in the homes of members for an evening to relax, drink wine, eat cheese, and participate in discussions and interactive activities. The Salon facilitator(s) may opt for an evening about pronunciation or reading strategies, writing or classroom management, classroom diversity or grammar teaching approaches, and other topics.
How can you hold a Salon?
Here are the dozen easy steps. (pdf) For more insight, read "The Birth of the Adult Education Salons", following our inaugural Salon in August 2010.
