Mary Stephens assumed the role of Program Coordinator at Nassau BOCES Bilingual/ESL Technical Assistance Center (BETAC) in July, 2003. She was an ESL teacher and mentor teacher in the White Plains City School District and prior to that taught in Deer Park and Massapequa. She has organized staff development presentations for mainstream teachers to address the needs of English Language Learners. She was an advocate for increased parent involvement within the ESL community at her schools. Mary has considerable experience in the field of ESL and uses her expertise to assist districts in making a difference in the education of ELLs. Her certificate in Educational Administration is from SUNY New Paltz. Mary was the ESOL Chairperson in the Gien Cove District serving the needs of students K-12.
