NYS TESOL 41st Annual Conference

The 41st Annual NYS TESOL Conference took
place on October 28-29 at the Melville
Marriott Hotel in Melville, New York.
ESL educators and those who support ESL
programs from across New York State
participated in this two-day professional
development event to learn about the latest
advances in pedagogical theory, how
technology integration can support those
learning English as a Second Language as
well as the latest best practices for
reaching the diverse learners with whom ESL
teachers work.
Dr. Andrea Honigsfeld,
Associate Dean in the division of education
at Molloy College spoke to over 300
participants on the importance of
collaboration to support ESL programs and
the students they serve.

Conference Theme
The theme of the 2011 Annual Conference addresses how communities (both in and out of schools) can connect through collaboration to enhance the social, emotional, and academic success of our English language learners (ELLs). Conference presentations and speakers will address various aspects of teaching and learning through the connection of community and collaborative efforts. Attendees will be provided a wide array of information addressing professional needs and concerns related to the overall success of ELLs.
